Parent Groups

Westglen's School Council is made up of an involved group of parents who work collaboratively with school staff to promote the well-being and effectiveness of the entire school community. The Westglen School Council plays a consultative and advisory role and works closely with school administration to ensure that students receive the best possible education.

All parents are invited to attend monthly meetings to provide valuable input into the education their children receive. In return, parents gain a much greater understanding of the school and educational process.

Please consider coming out to our monthly meetings. You will have a direct impact on your child's early years in school, make new friends in the community, and feel much more connected to your child's school.

Information about monthly meetings can be found on the school calendar and in school newsletters. Monthly meeting minutes are posted to SchoolZone.

Westglen Parent Association (WPA) is a registered society that, in consultation with the school administration and the Westglen School Council, raises and allocates funds to support and enhance student learning at Westglen Elementary School. If you are a parent of a student currently attending Westglen, you're entitled to become a voting member of the WPA.

Our efforts provide financial support for Artists in Residence, field trips to Camp YoWoChas and the Bennett Centre, swimming lessons, ski trips, special events and other activities. WPA funds have also supported the purchase of SmartTV's, classroom sound systems, document cameras, chromebooks, our school banner and transportation to track and field and choir events.
